We provide a range of programs designed to protect the lives and property of the inhabitants of the Village and Town of Mukwonago from the adverse effects of fire, sudden medical emergencies or exposure to any dangerous condition created by either man or nature.
Fire Welcome from Chief Stien
Welcome to the Mukwonago Fire Department website. On this website, you will be able access valuable information in regards to the fire department, fire safety, educational materials and application to join the department. The Mukwonago Fire Department responds to, on average, 2,400 calls a year. The types of calls include but are not limited to fire, hazardous material, rescue, motor vehicle collision, extrication, medical and inter-facility transports. The department protects approximately 40.11 square miles that are comprised of the Village and Town of Mukwonago. The estimated protected population is 16,000.
The Mukwonago Fire Department is a combination department that has seven full-time staff, including the Fire Chief. Full-time staff work 24 hours on and 48 hours off. Currently there are 46 Paid-on-Premise (POP) and Paid-on-Call (POC) personnel that are very dedicated to protecting and helping the all citizens, in and out of the district. POP shifts are 6 am to 6 pm seven days a week. POC staff are on call every third night from 6 pm to 6 am. MFD trains three hours each week on varies topics.
The Mukwonago Fire Department strives to develop our members through education, training and mentorship. We shall provide the necessary guidance and training to members who make a commitment to the department and the community.
